Noah’s Tuesday Tidbit: Tariffs, Panic, and Profit Opportunities

Noah’s Tuesday Tidbit: Tariffs Are Rising. So Is Your Advantage.

I had two very different conversations in the past few weeks.

The first was with a CEO in full-blown panic mode.

Her company relies heavily on global suppliers, and with the latest tariff changes, she’s watching costs skyrocket and margins tighten overnight.

She’s bracing for the worst. Freezing budgets. Delaying decisions.

Her words: “We just need to ride this out.”

The second conversation? Completely different.

Another client, similar situation, same market exposure, but his approach was confidence.

He said, “This is exactly when we gain ground.”

Instead of pulling back, he’s:

  • Locking in new supplier relationships.
  • Calling his best customers personally.
  • Proactively raising prices with transparency.
  • Launching new offers to fill competitor gaps.

Same storm. Two very different ships.

The first leader is waiting for safety.

The second is building dominance while others wait.

Here’s the truth:

Tariffs and market volatility will keep coming. It doesn't look like there's any end in sight!

You can’t control the storms, but you control your decisions. And in chaos, decisive action creates a serious advantage.

Your Challenge For This Week:

Schedule a 30-minute meeting with your leadership team.

No long agendas, no overthinking, just this:

1. Spend the first 5 minutes asking: Where are we defaulting to caution?

2. Spend the next 10 minutes on: Where can we take bold, decisive action this right now?

3. Spend the final 10 minutes on: What competitor hesitation can we exploit right now?

Keep it tight. Keep it focused. You’ll be surprised how quickly clarity emerges when you force action onto the table.

The best leaders don’t wait for calm seas. They build stronger ships.

One of the tools I use with clients is Sentient Strategy, a special 1-day session built specifically for volatile times like these.

It cuts through endless planning cycles and helps leadership teams build clear, flexible strategies in days, not weeks

And it’s designed to keep you agile as conditions change, no more plans that become obsolete the moment they’re finished. With Sentient Strategy, you stay ahead of uncertainty, turn chaos into clarity, and act while others hesitate.

If you’re curious how it applies to your business, reply with “STRATEGY.” I’ll share the details.

Best,
Noah

P.S. The Tuesday Tidbit isn't changing, but it’s evolving. Soon, I’ll be offering a new option for sharper insights, deeper strategies, and a few surprises to help you grow faster and think bigger. Stay tuned.

And, if you want an early sneak peek at what’s coming, reply with “VIP” I’ll give you a behind-the-scenes look at what I’m building.

Last February, a CEO told me: "We're a little behind, but we always catch up." They didn't. They finished at 78% of plan. Same revenue as the year before. Another year stuck. Here's what happened: By February, the data was already there. But he didn't want to look at it. Because looking means admitting the plan might be broken. So he waited. Told himself Q2 would be better. Then it was June. Then September. Then December. And the year was gone. Sound familiar? You're going to want to watch...

Last year I sat in a leadership meeting where the CEO proudly announced they were "attacking on all fronts." Marketing initiative. Sales overhaul. Customer success redesign. All at once. Six months later? Revenue flat. Team exhausted. Nothing moved. Here's what nobody told him. There's only ONE constraint in your business at any given time. Not three. Not five. One. Most leadership teams spread resources across ten priorities because it feels productive. It's not. It's organizational...

This story is so unbelievable you're going to want to watch the whole thing. A few years ago I was hired by an $80 million manufacturing company. First time I flew down there, they walked me through the facility. We get to the shipping department. Giant screen. Proudly displayed at the top of the room. It showed every shipping mistake in real time. Every error. So the whole team could see who messed up. They thought it was accountability. When I sat down with the employees, some of them were...
